The Calving Season
"Are those for me?"
The woman standing behind you seemed to come from nowhere. It's astounding you didn't realize she was there, though. She just may have been the most beautiful woman you'd ever seen.
Through a quick stutter, you explain to her that they're for your courting partner; the Mother's season was upon you, and they are your partner's favorite.
"It's a wonderful choice." She giggles, lifting her hand up to her lips to cover the teeth showing through her lips, shyly. "They're my favorite, too."
It couldn't hurt to appease two people, you think to yourself. After handing her the bouquet you'd collected and turning back to find more for your partner, you realize she's gone just as quickly as she appeared.
What an odd woman. But for some reason, you're sure of a successful season.

The Calving Season is when Minoans come together in celebration of the Mother Goddess in order to create new life.

It is celebrated over the entirety of Minoa, and is one of the biggest events of cross-tribe travel.

Many Minoans will make pilgrimages to the Temple of the Mother in Baalkithi in order to have their best chance at a successful season. Some Minoans believe the Mother herself takes the celebration so seriously, she ventures into the isles to help play matchmaker to unlucky minoans.

It is Baalkithi's biggest, grandest, and most expensive holiday. During this time period, the streets are flooded with outsiders from other tribes, and they are all welcomed under the Mother's protection.

It is a time of absolute peace. Brandishing a weapon in O'naan, Baalkithi's Capital, is punishable by death during the Calving Season.

Couples do not have to be opposite genders to have a calf delivered to them. The event is Magical, and the Mother delivers swaddled bundles to expecting parents through her temple.
Calves will be added as they are finalized in their new homes.
